Beverly Orvetta Lou Meulemans

Beverly Orvetta Lou Meulemans, age 93, of West Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. Beverly was born on January 5, 1931 in Mitchellville, Iowa to Howard and Ethel Daniels.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Beverly was united in marriage to Donald Meulemans. There were three children to this union, Virginia Lee “Jennie”, James Matthew and Deborah Sue. Beverly was a homemaker for her family and later went to work as an inspector for Fawn Engineering, later known as Whittern Group. She retired in 2002.

Beverly enjoyed trips to the casino, shopping, dancing, puzzles, and was a great sketch artist. During the day, she could be found watching her program, “Days of Our Lives.” Most of all, she dearly loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Red Hatters. She was a loving, giving, caring woman who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Donald; two children, Virginia Lee “Jennie” Kyle and James Meulemans; a grandson, Jamie Meulemans; five sisters, Phyllis, Norma, Marjorie, Audrey and Shirley, and her two kitties, Troubles and Princeton. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Deborah Sue Von Ahsen; son in law, Tommy Kyle; seven grandchildren, Todd Kyle, Melissa (James) Wilson, Lindsey (Aaron) Michel, Jeanna (Pete) Friedland, Amanda (Zachary) Graeve, Joey Beeman and Danielle (Moises) Sheridan-Llandez; nine great-grandchildren, Jayme (Nicholas) Meyer, Megan Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, Ava Kyle, Adelais Michel, Augustus Michel, Tyler Graeve, AJ Friedland and Garrett Friedland, and great great-grandchild, Amelia Meyer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be direct to the family and will be donated to a charity of their choosing at a later date.
