Such a tragedy, our thoughts and prayers go to the children, family and friends of Richard and Connie they will be missed terribly by all who knew them. Don and Mary Erickson.

Before I was fortunate enough to have my own horse, Jaffee and Connie were kind enough to teach me how to ride. It was a dream come true for me and I can never repay them for that kindness. When Jaffee and I went in to 8th grade together, I had received my horse, as a birthday present. The next year, my sister Aurora also got a horse to ride, and from then on the three of us were like sisters at the 4-H fair for those perfect summer weeks.  We all lived with Connie and Richard during that time, and Connie was with us almost every minute that we were at the barn. She was our mentor and much more, and Richard also must have cared deeply for us to let us borrow Connie for so long each day.
It was a tough job to care for a herd of teens and their horses during the fair. Connie would wake us up at 4:00 AM, so we could be at the barn by 5:00AM (we insisted). She always did it with a smile on her face, and I think she shared our silly determination, or at least enjoyed cracking the metaphoric whip behind us as we all charged to the barn. She would yell instructions to us from the railing, carry water buckets, muck stalls, and help us sweep. She helped me with my horse during our first crazy show (when he was a wild thing) and also secretly drugged him for me before my first class alone.
We had so many silly adventures together, and we couldn’t have asked for better guidance or a person with a better sense of humor. We loved to hear her stories of brave horsemanship and funny horse characters. I think we all hoped we could be half as fearless as she seemed to be. 
Connie was very kind to me when I was growing up. She was always patient with me and would listen to me complain about everything in my life as though she had all the time in the world to hear a teenage girl rant. I was very happy to have a friend with her, and I am deeply grieved to hear of her loss and that of Richard.
I am comforted to know that their lives are an inspiration to others and that their spirit will live on in Jaffe and Jason. I know that Jaffee will spread the love of horses to other young people and that she will share that strength with the world. I know that they will live on in our memories and that all of those touched by Connie and Rich’s lives will do their best to live in their example: an example of kindness, strength, and generosity.

To the children of Richard and Connie, you are all im my prayers. I only recently met your father on his trip to St Paul. He will not be forgotten.

As a co-worker of Connie's, she always had a positive attitude. She was a very good and happy person.  If I had a question or problem, she used her experience to help whenever possible.
She will be missed very much at work.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family now and in the future.

Connie sent me pictures almost every Xmas of Jason and Jaffy growing up; she is so very proud of you both. Like all those who give us love and support, Connie is part of you and can never be lost. I still can not believe she is not here anymore, I used to work with your Mom she come over to helps us in Customer Service,and I will talk about my little girl and she would talk about her babies the horses and how they knew when she was sad they would come to her and kiss her to comfort her.
  She was a very happy person, she will be missed at work. I wish it was a bad dream we lost a great person with good heart and great worker.

To Jason, Jaffee, Dean and Richard's family my thought's and prayers are with you.  We have so many good memories of Connie and Richard, I hope time will ease the memories of this difficult time and replace the bad memories with good.  One of my best memories was sitting at a family function with Connie and Richard and just talking about our lives and our childern, and of course the horses.  Remember the good tmes. I am so sorry I can not be with you at this time, bad weather.

Jaffee introduced me to her parents when I was a young girl. I was the 'little sister tag-along' to her and my older sister Ana. Connie and Richard both supported all three of us as we showed horses for years at the Polk County 4-H Fair. I have tons of memories with this family and will be forever grateful for the time, engery, and support they provided to my sister and I during our adolescence. 

Connie shared her passion and knowledge of horses with all of us. I will never forget her making me learn to ride English on Simon (her beautiful and very loved Thoroughbred, who looked gigantic to a 12 year old). 

Jaffee, you were always a big sister to me and I love you dearly. I'll never forget all of the things you taught me and how you protected me. 

Your parents will be missed greatly by everyone who loved them. 

Ana and I both know that you will coninue to share Connie's love and passion for horses with everyone you can.

I worked with Connie and she was always such a busy, bright-light at work.  I remember going through a personally rough time at one point only to come to work one day and find a bouquet of wild flowers on my desk.  She never asked about the rough time I was having but had a way of affecting me that was so sweet as she barely knew me. I remember thinking she moved so fast you could miss her if you blinked.  What a very sweet lady!  She will be sorely missed.

I never really met Connie, but we were working on a new project from Iowa to NY regarding a future website.  The more we talked about the ideas and she sent me lots of pictures, the more I liked her.  She was vibrant and passionate about the horses.  My regret is that we never met but I know her awesome daughter, Jaffee Kindred.  I will miss our many emails Connie.

Connie was married to my brother and I will always remember her as a very kind and warm person!My thoughts and prayers are with you, Jason and Jaffee and I Love You both!

Connie has ben my BFF since 3rd grade. She was the most loyal/best friend ive ever had. I will always feel her loss. She was so happy with Rich and he with her. She really found her love of a lifetime. The most important things to Connie was her husband, children, horses and friends. I will miss both of u greatly. Im sorry for the loss we have all shared and they will be greatly missed. My prayers go to the kids Jason and Jaffe and everyone who cared about them. Connie and I sometimes had lunch together and she would bring pictures of her horse and picture with her daughter on the horses. We always had nices talks .Sorry for your loss of  both parents. God bless you all.

I also do not know them, but my children and I came upon the accident while driving home.  My thoughts and prayers are with the families.  I have read the entries in here and I am so sorry that they left you all too early.

I didn't know Connie on a personal level. But I do remember meeting her at the Pet expo this past fall. I have pictures of her and my granddaughter on one of the animal from the horse rescue. Just from that small amount of time with her, I could tell she was a patient and loving person. My prayers are with your family for the loss of this couple.

I don't know your families, but my prayers and thoughts have been with you  since hearing of the horrific tragedy on Interstate 80.

I worked with Connie at Agricredit for the last year and got to know her a little bit. Her and I had a running joke between us that whenever we saw each other we would say, "Trouble!" That was kind of like our "Hello...nice to see you" greeting, but it also acknowledged that we were both "Trouble!" She will be missed. My condolences go out to her and Richard's family at their loss.

Connie was one of my best friends in High school and I worked with her at Agricredit.  She had such a Good Heart and was a Wonderful person! And my sincere condolences to the family.
