Dale Ferguson, 84, died Thursday, January 22, 2015. A funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines.

Dale was born August 9, 1930 in Valley Junction (now West Des Moines), Iowa to James and Elsie (Dixon) Ferguson. He worked at Penn Dixie as a chemist for over 30 years and 27 years at Budget Storage prior to his retirement in 2014. He loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and was an avid golfer with 5 holes in one throughout the years. He was fun loving, kind, and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Wynanda Ann (Whipple) Ferguson; their three children, James (Karen) Ferguson, Dr. Polly Ferguson (Kirk Banks), and David (Julie) Ferguson; six grandchildren, Mallory Noble and Samantha Magro, Nile and Evan Banks, and Connor and Lyndee Ferguson; and three great-grandchildren, Giovanni and Olive Magro, and Coralynn Noble. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Ferguson.
