Dale Phillips, 59, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 at the V.A. Medical Center in Des Moines. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.
Dale was born in Des Moines, Iowa and was a lifelong resident. He served in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed his work as a construction laborer.
He is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth (Jeff Wollesen) York, Samantha Phillips and Mary Shiffer, all of Des Moines; son, Jeremiah Wheeler of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and two siblings, Shirley Williamson of Des Moines and Allen Phillips of Arkansas. Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha Wheeler.
