Gina Higbee, 51, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 6, 2012 due to a brain aneurysm. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Westview Church in Waukee with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Gina was born August 16, 1961 in Lake City to Kenneth and Sheri Dirkx. She was a self-employed caregiver and a travel director for ITA Group, both of which she loved passionately. Gina was an avid runner and a care giver to all she met. Her desire to help anyone she could will live on due to her generous gift of being an organ donor.
She is survived by her husband, Dave; daughters, Sheri (Ben) Breen, Victoria Rodriguez and Becky (Adam) Joens; son, James Higbee; mother, Sheri Dirkx; brothers, Bill (Sharon) Dirkx, Jeff (Iliana) Dirkx and Dan (Nora) Dirkx; sisters, Jill (Steve) McCann and Jenny (Duane) Daby; 23 nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth and her grandparents.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Westview Church.
