He is survived by his wife Judith Gaines Clayton Harter, son Larry (Peggy) Kenoyer, Windsor Heights, IA; son-in-law Scott (Caroline) Clayton, Springhill, LA, son-in-law Curtis Barfield of Vicksburg, MI, several loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Grant enlisted in the United States Air Force in July 1954 and served during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Nazarene Church where he always enjoyed serving and doing special music solos.
His trade was as a licensed electrician in the Des Moines area until his retirement.
He and his wife Marna moved to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas in 1995 where they managed a travel resort and enjoyed hosting family and friends who came to visit.
Always an avid reader and a life-long learner, he encouraged others to do the same and went on to learn to play piano and acquire his Real Estate License.
We will miss him dearly, but always hold on to and remember his affection for energetic debate and his hearty, robust laugh.
