Helen was born on July 29, 1927 in Des Moines. She attended Roosevelt and the University of Iowa before marrying Robert Alexander in 1948. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, PEO and Questers. She loved golf, traveling, antiquing and going to the movies.
She is survived by her son, Kirk (Merrilee) Alexander; daughter, Carol; three grandchildren, Jennifer Sampica, Ryan Dawson and Whitney Alexander MD and six great grandchildren, Madison McKibben, Paige McKibben, Ramsey McKibben, Cyrus Dawson, Reese Dawson, Parker Sampica ; her brother and sister. She was preceded in death by Robert; daughter, Julie Dawson.
