Jon Weston, 61, passed away on September 17, 2015 at the Kavanagh House with his loved ones by his side. There will be “A Life Lived to the Fullest” celebration in the near future.

Jon was born February 13, 1954 in Boone, IA to Merritt John “Jack” and Mary “Punky” Weston. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast. Let’s just say “if there was a ball involved” you had his attention. Jon was a talented pitcher from little league through college. His father was passionate about baseball and spent hours teaching him the fundamentals. Jon earned a penny for every strike and paid a penny for every ball thrown, but most always walked away with a pocket full of pennies. Jon loved golf and was happiest spending time on a golf course with friends and family.

Jon will be greatly missed by Susan Horner, his sister, Vicki (Charles) Colby and step-dad, James Shaffer. Not having children of his own, he was “Uncle Buck” to his nieces and nephews, Sam, Summer, Chas, Lisi, Alex, Max, Jay and Courtney. He will also be missed by his aunt, uncles, many cousins and countless dear friends. Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Weston and Mary Shaffer and his sister, Carla Driver.
