Margaret Kennedy Guidicessi, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 26, 2015 at ManorCare Health Services in West Des Moines. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines followed by a Memorial Service at 6 p.m. with reception immediately following.
Margaret was born September 30, 1926 in Sioux City, IA to Joseph and Mary (White) Kennedy. She was a hostess at the Des Moines Club until her retirement. “Marge” as her friends called her was stylish and fun loving. She loved to sing and play the piano especially songs by her favorite idol, Frank Sinatra. Margaret was also an Irish activist.
Margaret is survived by her two daughters, Diana (Mike) Sheldon of Tucson, AZ and Mary Guidicessi of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Tricia (Brent) McQuiston of Carefree, AZ and Jason Sheldon of Brooklyn, NY and two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Ryan McQuiston. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael Guidicessi; aunt, Annie Heller and sister, Cecilia Conner.
