If you asked our mother her age, she would refuse to tell you. We just celebrated her 97th birthday on April 26, with her passing on May 24, 2023. She was born in St Charles, Iowa to Merle and Merle Browne. Yes, you read that right. She had one brother and two sisters that preceded her in death. Marion was a graduate of North High School. She was married to Andrew Hengesteg for 52 years before his death. Marion loved reading, sewing, knitting, bowling, golfing, and traveling. She has been a member of First Baptist Church in Johnston since high school.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Keith) Kalouner and Jan Warburton, grandchildren Melissa and Matthew (Elizabeth) Kalouner, Nick and Alexa Warburton, and great-grandchildren Lindsay and Andrew Kalouner. Her nephew Robert (Rayanne) Porter was like a son to her.
