

Mary Jane Elizabeth (Sohan) Glovik, 85, of Urbandale, IA passed away on April 12, 2025. Mary Jane was born on May 25, 1939 in Oak Park, IL, daughter of Robert and Stella (O’Brien) Sohan. A memorial service will be planned for a later date. Check back for future details.
Mary Jane graduated from Clarke College in 1961. In college, Mary Jane discovered her love of travel when she spent a semester in Vienna, Austria. After college, Mary Jane worked as a social worker for two years and then a school teacher in Connecticut and Joliet, IL for several years until she married Richard (Dick) in 1970. After marriage, Mary Jane loved volunteering at school, church, and the Infant Welfare Society in Glen Ellyn, IL.
Mary Jane was a devout Catholic who attended Clarke College where she met some of her most cherished friends and husband. She loved being with her friends and would spend hours on the phone sharing life’s happenings with them. She also loved decorating the house and entertaining their many friends. Dinner parties were their specialties. The couple loved cooking together and making their guests feel welcome in their home. They also loved to travel the world, especially to Europe where they travelled many times.
Dick and Mary Jane raised their three boys, Robert, Joseph, and John, in Glen Ellyn, IL. She was a devoted wife and homemaker for her four men and female dogs.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband Dick, two sons Robert and John, two grandsons Jenson and Graeme, four nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Stella and her son Joseph.
