

Michael Johnson, 70, of West Des Moines passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. Born on December 27, 1954, Michael lived a full and joyful life defined by devotion to his family, deep friendships, and passions that brought him genuine happiness.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Misty, who stood by his side through every chapter of life. He was a proud father to his two children: Jesse and his wife Nicki, and Julie Krier and her husband Gary. He treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in the lives they built. His heart was fullest when he was with his four grandchildren—Wesson, Harlan, Hank, and Harvey—who filled his days with laughter, wonder, and joy. His loyal dogs, Win and Dixie, were constant companions and beloved members of the family.
Michael had a lifelong love of motorcycles, the thrill of NASCAR, and the comfort of classic western films. Whether taking a relaxing ride on a warm day, cheering on his favorite drivers, or settling in to watch a familiar western, he found peace and happiness in the things he loved most. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family—sharing stories, making memories, and enjoying the simple moments that meant everything to him.
Michael’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be remembered for his warmth, his steady presence, his adventurous spirit, and the deep love he carried for his family.
He will be profoundly missed.
