Ralphael was passionate about sports and his Mexican heritage and culture. In his 20’s Ralphael was a Mexican folkloric dancer for the Los Bailadores Mestizoes, but it was his love for baseball and softball that occupied most of his free time. He created several recreational ball teams that he managed, coached, and even played short stop for the team when they played in leagues and tournaments in the Des Moines area.
Ralphael was a beloved father, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. His children remember him as a caring and encouraging father and his mother and siblings remember Ralphael as someone with a sense of humor, who brought excitement to the room whenever he was present.
Ralphael is survived his mother, Ila Plasencia; daughter, Danielle; son, Michael; sisters, Paula and Lisa; brother, Brian; a niece and a nephew, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Plasencia, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Rufus and Nora Plasencia; and maternal grandparents, Pablo and Pilar Rodriguez.
Memorial contributions can be made to Midwest Education Development Fund, Inc., where a scholarship will be created in his name. Ralphael lived a vibrant life and still had much ahead of him.
