Richard Moon served 24 years in the Navy retired, also worked in construction, electrical installation, computers and taught math at AIB. In his spare time, he loved to travel with his true love Joan Moon and loved to play golf with friends.
Richard is survived by Kim (Kevin) Johnson; Rick (Donna); Jazzmyn. Amanda; Echo and Mason. Tracy (Gaylen) Rasmussen; Brandon (Niki) Kaia, Aylah Blakely, Jayci, and Monroe, Jaime (Dan) Nolan, Bronsan, Saylor. Andrea (Brandon) Landon, Adelyn. Chad (Shawn) Noelle, Kyler. Lisa (Dan) Moon; Amber; Sahara, Sierra, and Savannah. Justin; Jackson. Samantha; Isabella. Tony (Brittney) Mark, Gwen. Alex.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Anita Moon; wife, Joan Moon; and brother Bill.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Resthaven Cemetery, 801 19th Street, West Des Moines, Iowa 50265.
