Robert Charles Burch

Bob was born on March 29, 1935, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Bernard and Dolores (Tyler) Burch, Sr. He was one of 13 siblings and a proud graduate of Dowling High School, Class of 1953. A hardworking and resourceful man, Bob was a self-employed trucker who had a natural talent for fixing anything mechanical and was highly skilled in construction.

A devout Catholic, Bob was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Above all, he cherished his family, and the time spent with them.

Bob is survived by his children; Marilyn Keeney of West Des Moines, James (Christie) Burch of West Des Moines and Michael (Dana) Burch of West Des Moines; son-in-law, Timothy Salazar of West Des Moines; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Burch of West Des Moines, and Joseph (Rusty) Burch of Orilla; and sister, Ruth Peacock of West Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Alice; daughter, Marjorie; sisters, Dorothy, Betty, Marjorie, Francis, Pauline, and Dorene; his brothers, Bernie, Paul, and Jerry.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 4, at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines. A burial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 5, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Orilla, Iowa.
