With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Robin Byers on February 14, 2025, at the age of 64. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held March 8th, 2025 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at McLaren's Funeral Chapel in West Des Moines.
She was a devoted wife to Richard Byers and a loving mother to Annie (Phillip), Dustin (Sarah), Casey (John) and Julia (Ryan). More than anything, Robin cherished her family. She found immense joy in being a mom, grandma, and great-grandma, treasuring every moment with her nine grandchildren—Destiny, Serenity, Autumn, Trinity, Eleni, Tammy, Mason, Collin and Addy—and her beloved great-grandson, Anthony.
Robin was the beloved daughter of Sue and a cherished sister to Barry. She was preceded in death by her father, Larry, whom she loved dearly.
Robin had a gift for making people feel at home. She loved hosting family gatherings, especially during the holidays, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and plenty of good food. Her home was a place where memories were made, traditions were honored, and love was always in abundance.
Some of her favorite moments were spent at the lake in Missouri, where she found peace and happiness surrounded by nature and her family. She especially loved the time spent with her “BS Bunch,” sharing stories, laughter, and unforgettable experiences by the water.
Robin also had a strong work ethic and a love for working alongside her husband, children and grandchildren. Whether it was at the fair, doing taxes, or tackling various projects, she took pride in every task. More than the work itself, she valued the time spent together, the lessons shared, and the bonds strengthened through each experience.
Beyond her family, Robin had a heart for helping others. She was passionate about volunteering, especially with the Girl Scouts. She believed in teaching young girls the values of kindness, courage, and service, leaving a lasting impact on so many in her community.
Robin’s love, laughter, and unwavering support will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will live on. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to shine through her family and the many lives she touched.
A celebration of Robin’s life will be scheduled in the spring near her birthday.
In lieu of flowers, Robin’s wishes were that donations be directed to Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa to support their mission. Donations can be made out to Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa.
Though she is no longer with us, her love remains in the hearts of all who knew her.
