Tim Neuman, 62, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at McLaren’s Chapel. Tim will be cremated and his cremated remains will be scattered at his farm in Albany, Missouri.
Tim was born August 17, 1948 in Des Moines, the son of Richard and Virginia Neuman. He was a 1967 graduate of Valley High School and a lifelong resident of West Des Moines. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and then in the Navy on the U.S.S. San Jose. Tim retired from the Bulk Mail Center in Urbandale where he served as the Union Steward. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #8879 in Valley Junction. Tim was an avid outdoorsman and he loved sports.
Tim is survived by his wife, Karen; brother, Tom (Debbie) Neuman of Des Moines; son, David (Valerie) Armington of Centerville, IA; daughter, Kimberly Armington of Des Moines; mother-in-law, Vesta Loy of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Richard Neuman, Jr.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at McLaren’s Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Central Iowa.
