It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Will (Bill) C. Smith who passed away on May 9, 2025. Dad was born on a farm in Toolsboro, Iowa on Christmas Day 1936 to Will and Geneva Smith. He took a lot of kidding from his family for having interrupted Christmas dinner that year!
He served in the Army, graduated from UNI and had a decades long career as director of Human Resources for what was Iowa Des Moines National Bank later to become Wells Fargo. He married Mom in 1963 and together they raised all five of us. They loved to entertain their friends. Dad with his jokes, stories and beautiful singing voice was always the life of the party. His passion was golf and he spent many hours on the course. He was a good man, a good person, a good father and a good friend. He was loved by everyone who knew him. The world is a better place for having him in it. He was preceded in death by his wife Pat and his daughter Linda. He is survived by a son Mark and daughters DyAnn, Mary, Susan and their families. He also leaves behind a second wife Linda and her son Doug and daughters Angela and Cynthia and their families.
