

William J. (Bill) Wykoff went to heaven on April 30, 2012 at Taylor House. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 6:30 pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, followed by the rosary. The funeral mass will be held at 10 am Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the church with interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
Bill was born in Dexter, Iowa on November 24, 1921 the son of Harry and Lulu (Hill) Wykoff. Bill proudly served as an electrician mate first class on the battleship USS Tennessee in the Pacific during World War II. He returned to Des Moines where he met and married Eileen Wilson on April 11, 1947. They were married 65 years. Together they had three children; Cherie (Al) Kuehl of Des Moines, Terri (Kurtis) Sampson of Allen, TX and William Robert (Beverly) Wykoff of Altoona: seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Hazel (Kenneth) Brown, Mildred (Leston) Wilson, Ella Mae Moore and Joan Viola, brother-in-law Dean Wilson. Bill retired from A-1 Beltmann Co. where he was operations manager for 30 years. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Holy Trinity Church.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Robert and Howard and brother-in-law Ralph Wilson.
