

David Walker Roberts died peacefully on February 1, 2015, at the age of 90. He was born to Ruth and Oliver Roberts in Amherst, Mass and received a degree in Horticulture from the University of Massachusetts. He was a World War II veteran and Navy pilot. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Betty Roberts, his daughters, Dara Treadwell of Florida, and Sally & her husband Bob Cohen of Harwich, his grandchildren Jillian Cohen of Watertown, Chandra Fields and her husband Rob of Amherst, and great grandsons Tripp and Quinn. Dave and Betty resided in Natick, Mass., Asheville N.C. and Harwich. He was a dedicated Mason for over 65 years as a member of the Meridian Lodge and affiliated with Pilgrim Lodge. He also served in the Order of Eastern Star. Dave loved music and sang in local choral groups in addition to the church choir. He was an avid gardener at the community gardens who generously shared his vegetables with neighbors and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, February 7 at the First Congregational Church of Harwich at 697 Main Street, Harwich Center. Please join his family afterwards for a reception in his honor.
