Emma "EJ" Josephine Smith

EJ was born on June 22, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Anna Rose O’Connor. She a graduate of St. Mary of the Woods College.

EJ was active throughout the community. She was a girl scout leader for many years, an active member at Holy Trinity church and a volunteer in the in the Dennis Yarmouth Elementary School System. She enjoyed daily swims at the beach, trips for ice cream and spending time with her family.

She was the sister of the late Lawrence O'Conner, Jean Kelliher, and Maryanne Donahue. She is survived by her children Donna Smith of Dennisport, Tom Smith and Kris Loll of St. Pete, FL, Joanne Leach of Chatham, Mary Sue and Dieter Ganshaw of Harwich. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Dan Smith, Ryan Leach, Benjamin Smith, Stephen Leach, Katerina Ganshaw, Christopher Leach, Josephine Ganshaw, Joshua Leach, Cole Smith and Samuel Smith Walker.

Visitation will be held at Doane Beal & Ames in Harwich Tuesday April 14 from 4 pm to 7 pm. A funeral mass will take place at Holy Trinity Church Wednesday April 15th at 11am. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Harwich, MA.
