Ferne Louise Morrison

W. HARWICH - Ferne Louise Morrison, 82, passed away on August 5, 2019 at her home in West Harwich. Born and raised in Framingham, MA, she was the daughter of Amedeo and Lenore (Greer) Brandolini. She lived in Troy, Michigan and moved to the Cape in 1997, where she resided for the past 22 years.

She attended McLean Hospital Nursing program in 1954, graduating in 1957 as a registered nurse and subsequently working at Mass General for a time. Deciding, however, to follow her older sister, Marlene, Ferne became a TWA flight attendant for the allure of traveling. In 1959, while traveling in Denver, she met John (Jack) E. Morrison, her future husband. With Jack, she was very active and enjoyed tennis, gardening, roller-skating, and horseback riding. From the 1960s and 1970s, she raised three children while intermittently working as a nurse. In the mid-1970s, she joined the American Red Cross Blood Donor Program and later made her way into the Pheresis Program as it was a more challenging nursing role. She retired from the American Red Cross in Michigan after 20 + years and moved to West Harwich in 1997.

Ferne is survived by her daughter, Laury A. (and husband Sital) Shah of Troy, MI; her 2 sons, Bradley S. Morrison of Fredericksburg, VA and Todd J. Morrison of Winston Salem, NC; her brother Ronald K. Brandolini of Framingham, MA; her sister Marlene L .Watt of West Harwich, MA; her grandson Owen D. Morrison and many nieces and nephews.
