

Rocco L. Locantore, Sr., of Chatham, MA, died peacefully January 3, 2015, surrounded by his family. Rocco was born in Worcester, MA, in 1927, one of twelve children of Joseph Locantore and Adolorata (Parisi) Locantore. He was raised in Worcester and graduated from North High School in 1945.
Rocco served in the Navy at the end of World War II, stationed on the USS Chuckawan, serving as a Seaman First Class.
After the war Rocco attended Worcester Jr. College for two years and then transferred to Suffolk University, graduating in 1950 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. When Rocco was forty years old he wanted to further his education and attended Northeastern University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1971.
After a lifetime of working in the aerosol industry, as a Vice President of Manufacturing, he retired in 1995 from Pharmasol Corporation in Easton, MA.
Rocco was the most loving husband of the late Josephine R. (Puliafico), for forty-nine years. Father of Roxanne and her husband David Burnie of Harwich, Mary Jane and her husband Richard Leopardi of Carver, Stephen and his wife Barbara of Long Beach, CA, Rocco Jr. and his wife Linda of Chatham, and Christopher of Chatham. He was the grandfather of eighteen and great-grandfather of six. Rocco is also survived by his sisters Grace Almonte, Vincenza Pultorak, and his brother Anthony.
Rocco was an avid golfer for many years and also a member of the Bridgewater and Dennis-Harwich Lions Club. His love of family, especially his wife and children, was overwhelming and he enjoyed spending many hours with them. He will be greatly missed.
The funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8 at Holy Trinity Church in West Harwich, MA. Visiting hours will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home in West Harwich.
