Ruth May Williams Ryder

HARWICH

Ruth went to be with her beloved husband Rocky and daughter Rowena this past Saturday. She leaves behind her six children. Sherry O’Brian of Harwich, Romona Bearse of Dennis, Robin Stevenson of Florida, Rain Ryder of Harwich, Rowland Ryder of Harwich, Rhonda Ryder of Yarmouth. She also leaves 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Ruth loved to make quilts for her family. She did her part in WWII, spending her evenings stationed in a lighthouse in East Chop on Martha’s Vineyard as a plane spotter. During the day he helped out at the local hospital. After the war she helped with the family’s oil business. Ruth got married and raised her family. She lost a daughter in 1960 and her husband, Rocky

in 1933. Through it all Ruth always had a smile on her face. In the last four years of her life she had more than her fair share of medical problems. She will be missed by all that knew her. Mom we will love you forever. Love, your children.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday Nov 15th at the Pine Grove Cemetery, W. Harwich, MA at 12Noon. A reception will follow at the 400 EAST restaurant in East Harwich.
