Susie Inez Higgins McKenney

She was born in Chatham in 1922, the daughter of Pauline Melba (Nickerson) Higgins and Albert Wesley Higgins.

She is survived by her brothers Nathaniel W. Higgins and his wife Rose, Alfred “Bangs” Higgins, both of Chatham and her sister Sylvia E. Doucette of Harwich. She was predeceased by her brother Robert E. Higgins and sister Marilyn F. Chapman. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

She was the loving wife of Leland H. (“Tim”) Mc Kenney for almost 50 years. Her children are Leigh W. Mc Kenney and wife Lauren of Plymouth, Paula Hutchinson and partner J. Patrick Donaghue of Limerick, Maine, Cynthia (Cindy)A. Eldredge and husband John, Sr. of Harwich. She was the grandmother of Kevin A. Eldredge, Sr., John A. Eldredge, Jr. and family Jennifer Rorro and children Lindsay and Collin of Harwich, Brian Eldredge and wife Robyn of Chichester, N.H., Christopher J. Eldredge of Hyannis and Timothy Mc Kenney of Pocasset. Her great grandchildren are Kevin A. Eldredge, Jr. of Dennis and Shane Eldredge of Chichester, N.H.

She was exceptional seamstress making beautiful quilts, wedding gowns and custom clothing. She also made crocheted, knitted and smocked items for her church fairs. She was a member of the E. Harwich Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
