Toni L Edwards

Toni Loren Edwards, 21, of Harwich, died unexpectedly on July 18,2012 at Cape Cod Hospital, with her family beside her. Toni is survived by her mother, Kim Lopes and her companion, Brian Barros; her sister, Shacara Barrows, step-brother Timmie Barrows, Jr., and her maternal grandmother, Benvinda Lopes all of Harwich. She is also survived by her paternal grandmother, Deborah Galvin, and great grandmother, Iyllene Edwards both of Hyannis. She is survived by many Aunts, Uncles and cousins throughout the Cape and Islands. Toni is predeceased by her father, Anthony D. Edwards of Hyannis.Toni was a graduate of the class of 2009 at Harwich High School. After graduation she went to school to get her nursing assistant certification, which she completed with honors, and had plans of getting her nursing degree. Once certified, she was immediately employed at Eagle Pond, in Dennis. Toni had a pure heart of love and compassion for her patients, and gave peace of mind to their families, letting them know she was taking care of their loved ones as if they were her own family. She always put the patient first and what they needed most at that time. Before the end of her shifts, she always made sure her patients were settled for the night and say goodnight to them and let them know she cared and she would be back tomorrow. Toni was devoted to her mother, (whom she loved, adored and admired), her sister (who was her best friend), and her grandmother, Benvinda, as well as all her family. She was very proud to be a member of the Wampanoag Tribe and honor her family’s legacy.We will miss our Angel, Toni.Visiting hours will be held at Doane, Beal , and Ames Funeral Home on 260 Main Street, West Harwich, on Monday, July 2, 2012, from 4pm-8pm. On Tuesday, a special mass will be held at 9am to 10am at Doane, Beal, and Ames, followed buy a funeral mass at Holy Trinity Church, West Harwich, Mass.Burial will follow at the Holy Trinity Cemetery on Route 124, Harwich.
