When I look back at that photo of Christine and our husbands in Florida in 2018 I can't believe how much time has passed. I remember an amazing phone call with her in November 2019 when she caught me on my cell, riding on a bus. God had to have wanted that conversation to take place, because there was no other way we could have had a connection in the Latvian countryside.

I've been thinking of Christine throughout the day and just wanted to briefly add to this lovely journal of her life.   Partly directed to her and partly directed to the people who grieve her loss.  

I really love coming to this site and see the joy, love and care you brought to so many people in your life.  Also, letting them give you love back. It's very moving.   My condolences to all of you!  I'm experiencing how you were there for friends and family and you were there for me.  Our relationship was quiet and complicated.  I'm so proud of you and all your accomplishments.   

Although we didn't share our adult lives together I loved you and enjoy seeing your smile in every single one of these pictures.  Your smile communicates without words.   I'm sorry you are not here anymore and it is comforting to think that maybe you are with who has passed before you and after.  That's the extent of my spiritual thinking.   I hope you were able to fully have the loving relationship you had with Mom. I do!

Chris accepted me as family, that I will not forget. Jen and I felt love from her and that was real. She did not know me that well as we live 4 hours away.  Visiting her was a huge treat for us. Very few people you just get a feeling for like that in life. 

It is over 2 years that my best buddy left this earth for a better place. We all miss her so much every day. We talk about her everyday, and in every class. We know she with us and still dancing and sharing her amazing spirit.

Christine came into my life when my father married her mother. Daddy and Chris had known each other many years, and when each was divorced by their own spouse, a long term friendship blossomed. It was beautiful to see the happiness that Chris brought into my dad’s life, but it didn’t take long to learn that Christine was a big part of that as well. Her medical assistance, using her nursing talent with great skill when my father became an amputee, was one example. But her vitality, enthusiasm for life, and sense of humor also contributed greatly to improving her “Steppy’s” state of mind and health. 


That’s what Christine shared with everyone who knew her.  My husband Keith says that what he remembers most about her is her selflessness, her concern always being for others. She gave of her time, her energy, and her heart, enriching everyone who was blessed to come across her path. 


I remember her radiant smile on her wedding day, and I don’t recall a time after that when her playful nature and sparkling eyes were dimmed by the trials that inevitably come in life. Countless times in her home I watched Christine, a human dynamo, laughing and talking all the way through food preparation—meatballs, pasta, salads, and more—enjoying that meal with everyone there, and then tidying the kitchen. Not that she couldn’t kick back, too: she made an art form of sunning by the pool or at the beach on Marco Island with a beloved book or two.


When life became seemingly unbearable, she believed she had the strength to carry on…and she did. The deep love of friends and family was a source of support. I know that her faith in Jesus, and the sure knowledge of where she was going when she left this earth, was key to her ability to persevere in punishing times. 


Christine is dearly missed. But I know I will see her again someday. In the meantime, she continues to be an inspiration to us all in these tough times. I can hear her now:  “It’s  awwwwwwwl good!"

A bright light and loving person gone way too soon, she was so selfless and caring and I will truly miss her, she always radiated positivity and was so much fun to be around, may she Rest In Peace, Angels carry her now. 

Your wedding 35 years ago was a wonderful celebration and we all loved seeing you marry our brother Anthony.  You are our sister forever.

I met Christine during my residency at Good Sam in the mid 1990’s. She was always pleasant and warm. I have since continued taking acls / cpr with her. She will truly be missed. 

My heartfelt condolences to Christine’s family. She was truly a beautiful person inside and out! 

I, like so many, would see Chris every 2 years at ACLS/BLS recert in her house.  I was probably one of the first to join her class and became a regular. I last saw her in Feb. As much as  I hated having to recertify, coming to her house and seeing her, chatting, catching up,  laughing at her jokes, enjoying her coffee and snacks made me forget why I was there.  I always came back. 

I will miss you.

I did not know Christine too well but she offered comfort and laughs to me at a time I needed it and I wanted to share.  I am a PA at good sam but I am on the younger side (32), I’ve only been at gsh for 8 years and I work night shift so I don’t see too many people/faces.  I knew Christine from taking the ACLS/BLS Recerts.  Her and Michelle always created such a fun and laid back learning experience.   In January 2018, I had to have a surgery that I was really nervous about.  When I recovered from my anesthesia, Christine was the first smiling face a saw in pacu.  We talked and laughed, I can’t remember what we talked about now but I remember laughing at a time that I didn’t think I would be able to.  I will always remember her as someone who knew how to brighten up anyone’s day, even if her day wasn’t go as well.  
I lost my father during this pandemic (to the pandemic) as well and it is tough to not be able to have a memorial yet to honor his life.  I have found much comfort in everyone sharing stories of him so I hope Christine’s family finds comfort in all these memories of a truly amazing woman.  Even though I only knew Christine briefly, I could tell she was a beautiful loving sioul, I am so glad our lives crossed paths.

I will Love this woman forever. She always left you feeling treasured. Through our years together at good Sam I witnessed how she fiercely advocated for her patients and adored our colleagues.  Even after her diagnosis she was always asking “how are you?” She never complained. She was grateful everyday for every moment. My only solace is that she is with her son. Praying for her daughter and family.  Chris, thank you for being a part of my life. My brother brought her home for us all to meet and we all loved her from the start!

My friend Christine was one of a kind. Always talking, smiling and laughing. I met Chris 26 years ago and our 1st outing was at the beach. AJ was about 3 yrs old when he cried all day that he wanted to go home. He didn't like the way the sand touched his feet. We laughed about that for years. I enjoyed lunches, dinners and a glass of wine with a chat anytime she called to meet up. Chris also enjoyed Citifield with me. Nothing better than having a friend who is also a Mets fan! She was so proud to be my very first massage client and begged me to be the last one when I was leaving NY. We worked together on nights for awhile and I always looked forward to seeing her at work. It made the night go by quickly. I was blessed to work in PACU as well as the OR and be able to work alongside Chris many days. ACLS, PALS, BLS classes, seminars, conferences.....She did it all. And all the Good Sam girls and guys were there to attend and support her. She will truly be missed by everyone. A great friend, mother, nurse, listener and of course a talker! I know she is reunited with AJ and now has peace in her heart. My dear friend Christine...This is never goodbye when you love someone as I have loved you. It's only Till We Meet Again
