

72 years old, of West Palm Beach, FL, died Sunday, August 7, 2016. A life long resident of West Palm Beach, Anne was the daughter of Irving Nelson Schiff and Sylvia Gans Schiff. She was a member of the first graduating class of Forest Hill High School, Class of 1961. She was a graduate of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA in 1965 and obtained her master in Gifted Education at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1998. Anne began her teaching career at Conniston Junior High School in 1965. Anne was the Past President of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County and editor of the publication The Jewish World of Palm Beach, Broward and Dade County. Anne was a member of one of the Founding Families of Temple Israel and was a Founding Member of the Temple Judea. She returned to teaching in 1992 as a Social Studies teacher at Bear Lakes Middle School and Roosevelt Middle School, where she won Teacher of the Year twice. In 2000 she was promoted to the Gifted Specialist of the Palm Beach County School District and in 2004 became Assistant Director with Dr. Willard White and became his successor upon his retirement. She retired in 2011.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Dr. Jeffrey B. Faivus; her son, Scott Faivus (Danielle); her daughter, Rebekah Faivus (Thomas McCabe); her grandchildren, Ryder and Ava; Laurie, Sarah and Jonathan and numerous other nieces, nephews and family members.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION & EVENT CENTER at HILLCREST, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, with interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, West Palm Beach.
