Harriet Marie Arndt

June 18, 1931 – October 14, 2016

A wise woman filled with compassion, creativity, and generosity has left us. Harriet Arndt was born on June 18, 1931 in Cleveland, OH, and passed away on October 14, 2016 in Delray Beach, FL surrounded by her family. A profoundly loving woman, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is deeply mourned by her daughters Deborah Tatonetti (Cam) and Lestie Arndt, sons Carl Paul Arndt (Rhonda) and Captain Craig F. Arndt, US Navy (Ret.) (Mioara); her 11 grandchildren Jason Tatonetti, Christian Arndt, Cara Pavek (David), Lundi Shafiei (Chris), Josh Tatonetti, Meghan McCarthy, Kellan Zanandrie, Kelemen Arndt, Johannes Arndt, step-grandchildren Szilvia Thursfield (Morgan) and Krisztian Gagyi; 3 great-grandchildren Zoe Zanandrie, Emma Povek, and Jackson Shafiei and many other close family and friends. Harriet was predeceased by former husbands Carl Frank Arndt and John Menart; her parents, a sister, and a brother.

Harriet’s passions included a 40-year career in South Florida real estate and a commitment to our military men, women and veterans as a board member, Navy Ball chairperson, and volunteer with the Navy League of the Palm Beaches. Her numerous hobbies included travel, interior design, gardening, sewing and entertaining family and friends.

A mass will be held at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Palm Beach, FL on Friday, October 21st at 11:00 a.m. for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warrior Project.
