Hartley Thomas Logsdon, Sr., age 60, a lifelong resident of West Palm Beach, passed away on May, 12, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Edgar Logsdon, Sr. and brother Stephen Logsdon. Hartley is survived by his wife Shannon, daughters Hannah and Shelby, son Hartley Jr. (Mallory), granddaughters Avery and Isla, mother Margaret, brothers Robert Jr. (Debbie), Kevin (Diane), and sisters Linda and Margaret (Richard). Hartley was a loving husband and father, an avid golfer and lover of travel and history. He was the owner and president of Hartley Logsdon Plumbing, Inc.
Hartley's love for his family was easily recognized. He married his high school sweetheart and together they raised a loving family that shared many road trips over the years seeking adventure in North Carolina, laughing all along the way. He was deservedly proud of his kids and how much each of them has achieved thus far. He couldn't hide his joy when holding his new granddaughters, Avery and Isla. They clearly had him wrapped around their tiny fingers, even if they were too young to know it.
However, he also treasured his upbringing in West Palm Beach and his lifelong friends. He grew up during a less hectic time here. He fished up and down the intracoastal as well as the ocean. Growing up he had every type of pet imaginable, most of them non-traditional. He was very social and approachable and made many new friends during his journey through life. Whether he was having breakfast at a diner, playing 18 holes or chatting up a customer, he always left you with a smile on your face. He had an unbridled sense of humor that he shared 7 days a week. To say he was just a jokester is a monumental understatement. He derived so much pleasure out of making others laugh along with him.
His loss certainly places a hole in all our hearts. But, as a friend shared with us, over time that hole will fill up with memories of Hartley that will brighten our days.
