Harvey Eugene Pope

Harvey Eugene “Gene” Pope, age 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24th, 2025 at his home in Chiefland, FL with his devoted and loving wife of nearly 71 years, Lorraine Ann Kelley, by his side. Gene was born to Charles Harvey and Leola Mae (Seabolt) Pope. He was a graduate of Belle Glade High School and the University of Florida. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. Gene went on to have a long and successful career as an entrepreneur, starting with Village Hardware and Supply and following with Monet Nursery and Landscaping in Palm Beach County.

In addition to Lorraine, Gene is survived by their daughters Jeannie Stevens, Kelly (Angel) Parra, Jackie (Rolando “Ro”) Paguaga, Michelle “Missy” Pope, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gene is predeceased in life by his Father Charles Harvey, Mother Leola Mae, sister Elizabeth “Libby” Slonaker, and granddaughter Ashley Stevens. In addition to his family, there were many joys in Gene’s life, including camping, fishing, and hunting in his younger years, but none greater than his family.

Funeral services will be held at Royal Palm Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 5601 Greenwood Avenue West Palm Beach, FL 33407 on March 1, 2025 at 2PM. A reception will follow onsite.
