Our Heavenly Father, in His infinite wisdom and unfathomable mercy, welcomed home His devoted son and servant, Jeffrey "Jeff" David McCoy, on October 31, 2025, at the tender age of 59. Though this homegoing was wholly unexpected, we cling to the unshakeable promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Jeff's earthly vessel has been laid to rest, but his spirit soars in the presence of the King. "Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a little, I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master" (Matthew 25:21).
Jeff entered this world on August 11, 1966, in Greenwood, South Carolina. Born into the loving arms of his parents, Florine “Flo” and Dennis McCoy. He was preceded in death by his cherished sister, Peggy, and his brother, Jan, who now stand with him—and their parents—in the great cloud of witnesses, cheering him onward as he enters the joy of his Master (Hebrews 12:1).
Jeff pursued higher learning at Emmanuel College, University of Georgia, and Oral Roberts University, where his heart for the Lord deepened through studies that equipped him for a lifetime of service—devoting his life to the sacred calling of music ministry. For many years, he made his home in South Florida, pouring out his passion at Trinity Church and Church of All Nations. In recent seasons, Jeff returned to his South Carolina roots, pursuing a more intimate communion with the Lord. To Jeff, no soul was a stranger. As a true brother in Christ, he embodied the command to walk alongside friends through the darkest valleys of loss, doubt, and trial—offering prayer, a listening ear, and the hope of the Gospel, for "a friend loves at all times" (Proverbs 17:17).
Jeff leaves behind a legacy most profoundly embodied in his family, whom he cherished as the greatest earthly reflection of God's covenant love. His three beloved children—Haven, Caitlin alongside her husband Harrison, and Cooper—were everything to him, the very beat of his heart and the joy of his soul. For "Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him" (Psalm 127:3). To his precious granddaughter, McCoy—just 13 months old—he was the most tender "Pop," holding her close in gentle cuddles, singing soft lullabies of praise, and filling her tiny world with the simple joys of God's creation. These dear ones carry forward his torch of faith and devotion.
As we mourn yet celebrate, we cling to the victorious hope of the resurrection. Jeff now beholds the face of Jesus, the Alpha and Omega, in a chorus that never fades.
