

Judith Hope Gonnerman, born on March 2, 1937, passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 88. She was a resident of North Palm Beach, Florida.Judith Gonnerman was born and raised in Washington, DC and subsequently Chevy Chase, Maryland. She studied piano from the age of 7 through high school and then organ through college. She played in the National Auditions of Student Musicians, where she received high marks. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, in Washington, DC a member of the Walther League; played the organ for the junior choir and Sunday adult Bible Class, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She met her husband at Valparaiso University, and after his term in the Air Force they moved to West Palm Beach. They were divorced after 17 years of marriage. Judith worked as a loan officer in a bank in Palm Beach and eventually went into the legal field where she was a paralegal and worked subsequently at two local law firms until she retired in 2004.
When her parents retired and moved to Palm Beach Gardens they became members of Faith Church.. Judith was an active member of Holy Cross Church on Kirk Road in West Palm Beach where she was Sunday School Superintendant. She transferred to Faith Lutheran Church in 2004 where she has been an active member. From 2007 – 2012 she was chairperson of the Birthday Card Ministry. She was the chairman of Faith’s Old Fashioned Country Fair in 2008, Co-Chairman of the 2011 Women of Faith Spring Luncheon and the Christmas Luncheon. In 2010 – 2011. She devoted many hours for over a year reorganizing the Resource Room for the School and Day Care to make all the supplies and materials more organized and easier to find. Through Thrivent she was able to get new book shelves and established a new library and conference room.
She was gifted in planning social events and her skills in organization were a big help to the Church. She was talented in sewing and numerous crafts which prompted her to start the Craft Club. She liked to work mostly behind the scenes and volunteered wherever she was needed.
She is survived by her nephew, Matthew Brandon Gonnerman, her niece Taylor Lee Gonnerman, sister-in-law Colleen Gonnerman, cousins Michael Hoerber, Meredith Stantonan, Heather Palumbo and Doug Hoerber. Judith was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Hildegard, younger sister Sandra and brother Norman.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 4pm-7pm at Royal Palm Funeral Home, 5601 Greenwood Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33407. A Visitation will also occur on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 10:30am followed by a A Celebration of LIfe at 11:00am at Faith Lutheran Church, 555 US. Highway 1, North Palm Beach, Florida 33408. A Committal Service will occur at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens. Services are entrusted to Royal palm Funeral Home.
