Lebanon Augustus Telfer, age 60, was born on October 14, 1961 in Mount Lebanus, Jamaica to Charles and Mary Telfer. He relocated to the United States in 1990 and worked as a chef and farmer for many years. His love for nurturing his plants and watching them thrive was a lifelong passion. He even requested updates on his garden when he could not be at home. Lebanon was a humble and kind person, who cared deeply for his daughters, his friends, and his family. He loved little children, especially, and was very proud of his grandchildren.
Lebanon enjoyed cooking and at one time owned a restaurant of which he was very proud. He would often show off his cooking skills and have a friendly “taste-test” with his friends. Lebanon also enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, and listening to music of all kinds. Most times, though, you could find him outside, enjoying the fruits of his labor.
Lebanon passed away on June 1, 2022. His pleasant and humble personality will be missed by all who called him family or friend. He is survived by his daughters, Kadian and Sequoia, and grandchildren (two granddaughters, one grandson, and one on the way). He was one of 14 children, of which 5 sisters and 3 brothers are still living. He lived in Loxahatchee with his companion, Carol Harrison, who cared for him through his illness and enjoyed his friendship over the years.
A visitation will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 12:30pm at Royal Palm Funeral Home, 5601 Greenwood Avenue, West Palm Beach, Fl. 33407. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 PM at the same location. A committal service will occur at Glenwood Cemetery, 1233 W. 6th Street, Riviera Beach, FL 33404.
