

Born in Grand-Goâve, Haiti, to Merilus Sylvain and Felisena Pierrefils, Marie Renia spent her early years in La Gonâve, Haiti, where she pursued her education. She made her living as a dedicated farmer in agriculture. It was in La Gonâve that she met the love of her life, Alestra Occeas, with whom she built a beautiful family of six children.
Marie Renia, affectionately known as “Ti Rein,” was a devoted mother and grandmother. To know her was to love her. She was a longtime member of Maranatha Church of God, where she dedicated her life to Christ and instilled faith in her family. Every Sunday, she would rise early to ensure her loved ones were ready for church on time, a reflection of her unwavering commitment to faith and family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alestra Occeas, her son Remode Occeas, and her daughter Anette Occeas.
Marie Renia is survived by her children: Wildor Occeas, E. Jean Occeas, Cherita Occeas Elysee, and Marie Joseph and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 9:00 AM on March 1, 2025, at Haitian Maranatha Church of God 1681 Avenue H W, Riviera Beach, FL 33404. Arrangements are being handled by Quattlebaum Funeral Home.
The family of Marie Renia Sylvain extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Pascal Geodon, the members of Maranatha Church of God, and all the wonderful friends and associates who have shown their love and support during this time.
