

Mary Patrick Boland Lindsey was born Saturday April 7th 1928 in Petries (now Curling) Newfoundland before it was part of Canada. Mary passed peacefully away Wednesday February 22nd, 2023 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mary was a fiercely independent woman who loved life and was actively involved in her community and family! During her final days Mary was cared for by her daughter Ann Marie Barden of Colorado Springs.
Mary is pre-deceased by her husband Clements B. Lindsey (2005), her mother Anita (Hynes) Boland, father Leo Patrick Boland, brothers Harold and Michael, sisters Bride Boland and Mona Galliot, and aunts and uncles, nephews and cousins in the Boland and Hynes line as well as many relatives and friends in Canada and South Florida.
Her children Michael (David), and Ann Marie (Jeff) and grandchildren Katie (Drew) and Jessica (Rocky) are celebrating her 94 years of life with her sister Helen White and brother Fred (Carolyn), along with many nieces (Linda, JR, Tammy, Gail, Marion, Jennifer, Bobbie, Shelly, and many more nieces, nephews, and cousins and her friend since childhood, Eileen (O’Rourke) Gronich.
As a young woman, Mary worked with Dunphy’s Fisheries and General Store as Bookkeeper and later in the office of Bowater’s Pulp and Paper Co. She enjoyed social activities such as dances and acting on stage. She moved to Florida in 1962 and married Clem in 1963. Together, they raised their family in West Palm Beach, Florida. When her children were in high school Mary worked as an executive secretary. She maintained a strong fidelity to her Roman Catholic faith and was active in activities at St. Juliana’s and to Holy Name of Jesus Parishes for many years.
In 2015 Mary moved to Colorado Springs to enable her daughter and son-in-law to better assist in her care and be closer to her grandchildren. Her son Michael Lindsey would visit Colorado Springs and stay in touch from New Orleans. Mary made many life-long friends over the years and she will be greatly missed.
A viewing will be held at Quattlebaum Funeral Home 6411 Parker Ave. West Palm Beach Florida 33405 Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation, and Event Center | Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery| Dignity Memorial) on Thursday 3/2/23 from 4 – 6 PM. Funeral Mass 3/3 10 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church 345 S. Military Trail, WPB, FL 33415, will be live streamed myhnj.org. Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery Noon 10941 Southern Blvd. Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411. Flowers may be sent to Quattlebaum or donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Ronald McDonald House charities.
