Better known as “Lauch”, Mr. Bennett was the fifth of seven children born in West Palm Beach, Florida to William Ames and Bettye Bennett. He died suddenly and unexpectedly on April 2, 2022
Lauch had an idyllic childhood, growing up locally with his large group of siblings. His father was a well-known Palm Beach architect, and Lauch spent most of his professional life in the building trades. He became a state licensed building inspector and worked until the time of his death for Tew and Taylor, Inc. of Palm Beach. Lauch was an unusually empathetic individual, & was a major care giver for his older brother Bill and both of his parents before their deaths. He was a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan, a serious Rolling Stones follower, a motor sports enthusiast, and collector of Rolling Stones, and F1 and MotoGP racing memorabilia. He was a real family man, treasuring time with his two grown children, whom he adored, his siblings, and his beloved grandchildren who called him Papa. He was a devoted friend to many and took time to share sweet funny anecdotes on Facebook or messenger whenever he could. Our lives will not ever be the same without him. He gave unstintingly of himself and never had a cross word for anyone, a true mensch.
Lauch was predeceased by his mother and father, and his brother William Ames Bennett Jr. (Bill). He is survived by his wife Lisa, his son Lauch Jr., his daughter Lauren Lorenzo (Arturo), his mother in law, Valerie Seifert and his three grandchildren, Alexia, Aria, and Arturo Jr. as well as his siblings: Lucy Smith (Gary), Zed, Monnie Donnelley, Samuel Duke( Sonja), and Gina Gordon (Scott), all of whom miss him deeply.
Lauch is well loved by his family and by many, many dear friends, most living locally, but one as far away as Tahiti. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Services for Lauch will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park 6411 Parker Ave. West Palm Beach FL 33405 on Friday, 4/22 at 1:00. Burial to follow at 3:00
