Roger was my first boss at EF Hutton in 1982.  An incredibly kind & gifted human being, he taught me investment banking skills which i carry to this day.  My favorite memory is playing black jack in the office with him  @ 1 Battery Park Plaza while he negotiated hundred million dollar deals on the phone.  As he would always tell me “you gotta FOCUS son!”  So terribly sad that he passed so young, my best wishes to his family and may he RIP

Roger was gentle and kind, he had an energy that bordered on eternal. I met Roger and Roxann at MOMA about a decade ago while I was teaching in the evenings. They were unlike any couple I had known before or since. They had busy lives and so would often come in a bit late (tardy!) and were completely in love. We'd be watching slides and they'd be cuddling and sometimes even making out (!) in the back.  Rarely was there space between them. After the class ended, I enjoyed visiting two of their homes and talking and eating with them, which gave me a chance to enjoy their connection further and to witness Roger's incredible personality. So calm and gentle and charming and patient. He was wise. I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Rox, and the loss of your family. I don't know why this happens to the best of us.  Glad to read here that he liked Bonanza - my Dad likes it too. Sending love to you.

While only 'hung ' with Roger a few years before puberty , always look to him as a student  athlete with a future.  Remember throwing snowballs at cars on Owasco Rd. and running away throu the culvert under the street.  Know well that he might a lot to many.

Roger also was an avid fan of 'Bonanza' back in the day, as well! When I was growing up with Roger's younger sister, Susan, we both were watching 'Dennis the Menace!' and Roger would then stomp right into the living room at his family's home on 338 Owasco Road, and immediately right then and there, turn and switch the T. V.  channel dial from 'Dennis the Menace!' to 'Bonanza'! Both Susan and I, in our pajamas and nightgown and bathrobes, would right then and there, start crying, when Roger turned the T. V. channel to 'Bonanza'. Soon, Aunt Tib and Uncle Bob came into the living room and immediately told Roger to turn the T. V. right back to 'Dennis the Menace!', because both Susan and I, being two to three years younger than Roger, had to go to bed earlier before Roger did so. It obviously was at times a big part of sibling rivalry growing up back then, but Roger obviously just ❤ed watching his 'Bonanza' back in the day, as well! I also even remember when I just just a wee folk staying at Aunt Tibb's and Uncle Bob's, when my folks took my two older brothers, Carl and Doug, and Roger's older brother, Bill on a fishing trip up in Ontario, Canada, just after my Mom and Dad left me with the Taylors for two weeks while they were on their fishing trip, just before I went to bed, and was also looking at Waddy Piper's old familiar children's most popular story book, 'The Little Engine That Could!', Roger came into his room and asked me if I saw his toy gun, as well, believe it or not! I then several years later, could very well understand how much Roger just ❤ed watching 'Bonanza' most of all, as well!

So sorry to hear of Roger's passing. We worked side by side at the startup, FGIC. He, no doubt, had a big hand in my being hired. What a joy and privilege it was to have known him. I remember my first meeting with him at Smith and Wollensky's, after my hire, when he taught me how to "be a banker." (Those Johnston & Murphy's a must). And how I tried to sneak past him to get to my office each morning, usually at 7 AM, only to hear, "Bob, what are "WE" having for breakfast today," as I was "forced" (most willingly),  to share what I had with him as we started our crazy days at this startup. I have missed his truly infectious personality. Rest in Peace my old friend.

Roger and I were competitors in the bond guarantee business in the 80's and 90's.  After I left my company, he reached out to do me a favor and see how I was.  It was a nice and appreciated gesture from a classy guy.  The world needs more people like that today.  RIP and sincerest condolences to his family.

As a childhood friend of Roger at their Owasco Rd.  home always looked up to him as student-athlete.

My family and I most definitely have very fond memories of Roger most of all. Roger's wonderful sense of humor and his positive attitude and outlook on life most definitely touched our lives, as well. My older brother, Carl grew up with Roger, playing baseball and fishing at first with him, then eventually enjoyed playing golf with him during the many summers that they saw and spent with each other, as well.

My family's and my ❤, condolences and prayers most definitely go out to Roxann, Ashley, Colin, and especially his very special family including his older brother Bill and his wife, Sue, his two sisters, Wendy and her husband, Jim, and Susan and her husband, Marc, and his nieces and nephews at this time, as well.

Oh dear... such sad news.. Roger’s mother was my husband Herb Getman’s first cousin, and I remember Bill, Wendy, Roger and Susan playing robustly with our children with such laughter. So very troubling. I lost my Herb to the same disease. Our whole family sends love from California to his family.

I am so sorry for having just learned of Roger’s passing. Our deepest condolences to Roxann and the family.  Roger and I first met when we were competing in the public finance market, he at Hutton and I at Kidder Peabody in the early 80s. Back then your competitors were friends. We remained good friends throughout our careers, always staying in touch with each other. He was an amazing person, super smart, always positive with a great sense of humor. I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago to see how he was doing and he being Roger had a very positive outlook. I will miss Roger. 

I had the pleasure of working with Roger when we both began our business careers at EF Hutton in the late 70s. In addition to being the smartest guy in the room, he was funny, loyal, energetic and a great friend. He went on to enjoy great success in life. I know his family is deservedly proud of his many accomplishments but his best gift is that he was an all around good guy. Our most sincere condolences to his family. Steve and Barbara Claiborn

Roger was a friend of mine from 1st grade until graduation.  He was always quick to laugh and join in the fun, but had a steady, serious side.  I’m so sorry to hear this news.  God bless his family.  We feel your loss deeply.

Dear Taylor Family- please know that we are all saddened by Roger’s passing as he was true gentleman, loyal friend and accomplished business professional.

His wit and charm were always evident in the years we spent in New Canaan and the Woodway Country Club. To play golf with Roger was an adventure in competition and camaraderie - always enjoyable.

Both Pat and I were fortunate to have met him and know him. Rest assured that he and your family will be in our prayers.

Roger was in the first class of associates we hired at E.F.Hutton and we worked together there for many years. Roger was a great guy and good friend. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. 

A finer gentleman is hard to find. Roger and I shared an office at EF Hutton.  He taught me everything about the ways of the financial world.  
No surprise to anyone who knew him, he was brilliant, a loving family man and there for those close to him.  Further, he had a marvelous sense of humor. 
To dear Roxann, Ashley and Collin Tebo my sincere condolences. And to Bill, Susan and Wendy I am so sorry for your loss.
