CHASAN, ROSALIND AGE 96 OF West Palm Beach died August 7th. Loving mother of Joan Chasan Alford, Bruce Jacob Chasan and Diana C. van den Boogaard, Cherished grandmother of Theresa Rose van den Boogaard, Emily Marcia ( George Nitzburg) Chasan, Alexander Fernando Chasan, Jon Burton van den Boogaard and Jennie Marieke van den Boogaard. Services 10 am Sunday, August 11th at I J Morris Fuenral Directors, 5411 Okkeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach. Immediately following the Funeral Service the Chasan Family will be receiving friends at The Tradition of the Palm Beaches, 4920 Loring Drive, West Palm Beach.

It’s a Wonderful Life! Rosalind Chansky born Feb. 12, 1917 to Israel Chansky and Jennie Katz at home in Wenham, Massachusetts.

Rosalind named for her paternal grandmother, Rachel Waitman Pischansky, from Odessa. Family moved to Beverly, Mass.

Age 16 A high school beauty, star of senior play “Bab, a Sub-Deb”

Age 20 Graduated from Salem State Teachers College, 1937. Went on to teach business classes in Nashua, New Hampshire and other schools

Age 24 Met a handsome CPA from the Bronx, Burton Chasan, at a resort on Spofford Lake, New Hampshire. Burt graduated from City College of New York,

and earned an MBA from NYU

Age 25 Married Burton Chasan on Aug 1942, in St. Petersburg, FL, during wartime. Lived in many places in the south during the war

Age 26 Joan Sophia Chasan born, Beverly Massachusetts

Age 28 Bruce Jacob Chasan born, Beverly Massachusetts

Burton discharged from the army in June 1946. Begins working in Manhattan as an accountant for George Muhlstock & Co.

Lived in a house on 94th St. in Jackson Heights, near LaGuardia Airport

Age 35 Diana May Chasan born in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York

Age 36 Family moved to 26 Robert Circle, Syosset, Long Island, New York

Age 48 Began working as a bookkeeper for Singer Sewing Machines company headquarters in Syosset, beginning a new career working at several jobs on Long Island, including the IRS.

Age 55 Diana married Evert van den Boogaard, in Providence, R.I.

Age 62 Bruce married Carmen McLeod, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Age 64 Rossy and Burt buy a home in West Palm Beach, Florida

Age 65 Theresa Rose van den Boogaard born in Houston, Texas

Age 66 Emily Marcia Chasan born in Philadelphia

Age 67 Joan marries Zeb D. Alford in Houston, Texas

Age 68 Alexander Fernando Chasan born in Philadelphia

Burton retires from George Muhlstock. Burton and Rosalind say goodbye to Syosset and move to West Palm Beach, Florida

Age 69 Beloved husband Burton passes away in West Palm Beach, Florida

Age 70 Jon Burton van den Boogaard born, Olney, Maryland

Age 73 Jennie Marieke van den Boogaard born, Olney, Maryland

Age 80 We celebrate Rosalind’s 80th birthday. Rosalind occasionally comes in first at her weekly duplicate bridge game!

Age 88 Rosalind moves to the Tradition of the Palm Beaches
