A family receiving friends for Theresa will be held Monday, August 7, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Royal Palm Funeral Home, 5601 Greenwood Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida. A funeral mass will occur Monday, August 7, 2023 from 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 345 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Florida. An interment will occur Monday, August 7, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 2:45 PM at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, 5601 Greenwood Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida.

Theresa Mary Allen age 96 of Holy Name of Jesus Parish, West Palm Beach, Florida and formerly a resident of New York City, entered her heavenly Father’s home on August 1, 2023. Theresa and her late husband of 58 years, Lenny, raised nine children: Michael (Cindy), Mary Sweeney (Robert), Theresa, Patricia Allen (Warren), John (Dolsie), Rosemary Schellenger (William), Maureen, and Jeanne Allen-Horth. Theresa was predeceased by daughter Anne McCabe (Peter).

Lovingly referred to as “Granka” by her 19 grandchildren: Katie Sweeney (Mike), Elizabeth (Rory), Bridget (Scott), Meghann (Bryan), and Micheal (Marlena); Shauna Linn and Allie; Jesse Allen (Aaron), Emme (Robert), Mollie (Ross), and Michael (Mirran); Molly (Tristan) and Eric Schellenger; Harry and Jack McCabe; Kevin (Amanda) and Taryn Bailey (Joe) ; and Maeve (Matt) and Eoin Allen- Horth; as well as 13 amazing great-grandchildren.

Theresa was a faithful Catholic, very involved in the Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and CCD Instructor. She also served as a reading assistant for the Palm Beach County school system and became proficient in American Sign Language to better "communicate her teaching and love to a broader community.

Theresa will be remembered as a loving, compassionate parent, grandparent, great grand-parent, teacher and friend to all who knew her; always there to comfort, to council, to console and share the joy of the Holy Spirit within her. We know she will be greeted in Heaven lovingly by Lenny and Annie, and all her family who went before, Margaret, Patrick, Frank, Vonnie, Johnny and Charlie, waiting for joyous reunion.
