Wanda Falconbury Jenkins

Wanda Falconbury Jenkins passed peacefully into eternal life on October 1, 2016. She was born in Cincinnati, OH on May 4, 1956. After graduation from Miami University in Oxford, OH, she moved to Miami, FL to join department store chain Burdines as a buyer. After several years in retail, she enrolled at Florida Atlantic University and became a Certified Public Accountant, practicing first with Ernst & Young and then managing her own tax-focused CPA practice in West Palm Beach. Wanda's life revolved around family, faith, hospitality, gardening and community service. She was a longtime active member of Memorial Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and children's Sunday School teacher. She found particular joy in mentoring younger mothers and was a role model to many. She loved to entertain and generously opened her home and garden for church, community and neighborhood events. Her wisdom, empathy and straightforward "do the right thing" approach to life resulted in many leadership positions, including President of the Junior League of the Palm Beaches and co-chair for many years of Palm Beach Atlantic University's Women of Distinction annual event. Wanda's humble nature never wanted the spotlight but she couldn't help but light up any room she entered. Her legions of friends can attest to her incredibly generous spirit, as she gave of her time, love and money without reserve. Wanda was truly beautiful inside and out. The greatest joys in her life were her husband James C. Jenkins and their three children: Amanda Jenkins Cobos (husband Peter J. Cobos), James C. Jenkins, Jr., and Edward M. Jenkins. She also is survived by her sister Mollie Winsted (husband Gary) and brother Rick Falconbury. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on October 15 at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1300 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Palm Beach Atlantic University for the Wanda Jenkins Scholarship Fund and mailed to Palm Beach Atlantic University, 901 South Flagler Drive, P. O. Box 24708, West Palm Beach, FL 33426-4708.
