David Leslie Turpin

David was born September 20, 1954 in Olney, IL. His parents were Kenneth Eugene and Nona Joan (Gawthorp) Turpin. He married Deborah Lynn Edwards December 3, 1983 and she preceded him in death March 10, 2009.

He was a diesel mechanic for Mclean Implement. He served in the US Navy during Operation Desert Storm. David was a member of the First Christian Church of Albion. He enjoyed guns, and mechanic projects. He was a member of the Albion VFW and American Legion in West Salem. David also loved his grandchildren and especially enjoyed raising his youngest child, Karli.

He is survived by 3 daughters; Jamie Beeler of Knoxville, TN, Lauren Turpin of Mt. Carmel, IL, Karli Turpin of West Salem, IL, 3 sons; Charles Turpin, Knoxville, TN, Cameron (Jamie) Turpin of Albion, IL, Blake (Rachel) Turpin of Carbondale, IL, 2 sisters; Patricia (Chris) Sienkowski of Albion, IL, Katrina (Rick) Ninness of West Salem, IL, 2 brothers; Dennis (Suzanne) Turpin of Albion, IL, Roger (Sherrie) Turpin of Albion, IL, 2 grandchildren; Noah Beeler, Malia Turpin and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie; parents and one brother, Gerald Turpin.

Funeral service will be Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10:00AM at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem, IL. Burial will be in Ebenezer cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00PM at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem.
