My sincere condolences to the family.
I am shocked to hear this sad news. 
Dr. Farhi was the best boss while I was working at Pars hospital laboratory in Iran over 30 years ago and I have only good memories of being there.  I always remembered him and the gentleman he was and will never forget him. He will be missed. 😔🖤🌹

A Principle of Generosity
Farbod and, in fact, his entire family were incredibly generous and supportive. It wasn’t just a habit—it was a principle they lived by. For instance, whenever friends or relatives visited their laboratory, they received free medical tests, regardless of whether they could afford them or not. It was a rule, a commitment to kindness.

I remember one time when the wife of the tea attendant at our office needed several expensive tests. I called Dr. Farahi, just to ask if their lab provided that specific test. Uncle Farbod—that’s how I called him, just like the children of family and friends did—told me that while they didn’t have one of the tests, I should still send the woman over.

So, I sent them, thinking she would at least get the tests their lab could perform. But later, I found out that Uncle Farbod not only had done all the necessary tests for free, but he had also given her the money to cover the cost of the test their lab couldn’t provide.

His generosity wasn’t just an act—it was a way of life.

Generous in Wealth, Knowledge, and Attention
Uncle Farbod was an avid reader. He read everything—from Richard Dawkins' books on the existence of God to specialized journals and daily newspapers. 
Once, I had written a small piece for a quarterly magazine. It was nothing significant, just a note of appreciation for one of my professors, and I never imagined that anyone from my friends or family would come across it.
But one day, Uncle Farbod called me. With his usual warmth, he asked, “Is this ‘Narges Khatoun’ who wrote that article in Bukhara magazine you?”
I laughed and said, “Yes, that was me.”
He responded, “Why didn’t you tell us?”
I shrugged it off. “It wasn’t anything important, just a small tribute to my professor.”
And then he said something that stayed with me:
“You should have told us—so we could be proud of you.”
The beauty of this memory isn’t just in his words but in what they revealed about him. Uncle Farbod never overlooked the small things about people. For a man who himself was a source of pride for a thousand reasons, it was the ultimate act of grace to make others feel valued.His generosity wasn’t limited to wealth and knowledge—he was generous with his attention, too. He noticed, he cared, and he made sure others knew they mattered.

From a soul as great as his, nothing less could be expected. His memory will always be with us, and we will always miss him.

What could I say being the grandchild I was spoilt by everyone specially by you.
Such good memories from sleep overs and having desert for breakfast . The summers in the lab in Tehran.
Braghe joon and our ski trips when Baharak and Bardia were young.
You always took us to the nicest restaurants around Tehran.
On my last trip you even came to pick me up from tue airport. A true gentleman with no expectations.

I will miss discussing technology with him and hearing all the sensors go off in his car on the drive to Barg-e-Joon, as he would navigate through the village roads. I will miss him. A memorable day May 18, 2021.
Farbod Aziz invited me to Bardijoun. Chelokabab and vodka lime in this exquisite landscape. Funny: he wanted to heat the chelokebab in a small electric oven that didn’t work. I reminded him m that he is bringing his Lab professional into play here. We laughed when I pulled out a big generous frying pan and heated this great meal. He loved so much Bardijoun and I am ever thankful for having seen it. My fondness, love and huge respect for Farbod is beyond words . A fifty year friendship that started in New York City 1975. I was blessed with his friendship.

We deeply grieve the loss of our dear  Dr. Farhi. He was a true gentleman and a devoted friend. His friendship was a gift to all who knew him, and his absence leaves a profound void. Though he is no longer with us, his memory and the positive influence he had on our lives will remain forever. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family as they face this difficult time.

No words can describe the loss I feel for my cousin's death. My heartfelt condolences go to the entire family. Amoo Farbod was truly a “one of a kind”…  I can loudly say that in today’s world there aren’t as many great people as him. 

Today I like to imagine him running in Shahanshahi Club with his brother Feri and both breathing freely. I hope they’re together now. 

He passed away because his body had served its purpose. His soul had achieved what he came to do, learned what it came to learn, so he left a contented man who has left his footprints with glory on the sand of time. His name will always be remembered, and his kind smile will be forever missed.

It was with profound sadness that I learned of the passing of my dear friend Farbood .  Although it was known to us that he would eventually succumb to a debilitating pulmonary illness, the knowing did not soften the loss.  He was my friend for 67 years.  And he was the cement among friends and relatives.  He maintained connections with so many,  dating all the way back to childhood.  To want to know about someone from the past, just ask Farbood.
I met Farbood when I joined the Alborz boarding school in the 10th grade.  Thereafter we were together for 7 years of medical school.  Following this we were both drafted and did 2 years of military service, finally ending up in Manhattan.  Farbood had a beautiful apartment on 80th St and 3 rd Ave (German Town) and hosted many parties that his friends enjoyed.   He completed a residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, one of the most respected medical facilities in Manhattan after which he was hired as assistant professor. Although he could have had a prestigious job anywhere in the US,  Farbood’s true passion for his homeland Iran brought him back to Tehran where he built a magnificent lab.
He would often travel back and forth between Iran and the US to pursue needed materials and the latest technologies.  In spite of all the political problems and sanctions he tried very hard to maintain the quality of services comparable to those in the US and Europe.  He trained doctors and technicians to maintain the work that he had to remove himself from due to his illness.  I am sure that they share the sorrow having lost their leader and mentor.
I am grateful knowing that he enjoyed the closeness of his family during his last months.  I could see the enormous smile that his grandchildren brought to his face when he played with them.
I extend my deepest condolences to his wife Farzaneh and to his children and grandchildren and his sisters Fereshte and Farideh.

World can take away our good times.
World can take away our good friends. 
But
Would can not take away happy memories of good times we had with our dear friends like Farbood  Farhi.

i've known Dr Farhi since i was young kid, i remember he always had gum and candy from his travels for all the kids. 
Dr Farhi was a constant support for people with disabilities and always supported my mom projects to raise awareness for people with disabilities in Iran. 
i interned at his healthcare facility and received  my very first recommendation letter from him. that letter started my career in pharma industry. 
Last time i saw him in summer of 2023 with his lovely wife Farzaneh joon, we spend a whole day in san diego. i never imagined that would be the last time that we spend time together . 
i will always cherish his memories and hope to be half the person that he was
