I'm devastated to learn only recently of Jim's passing.  We have made a point of getting together for lunch often since 2002. Jim always shared his love of his family and his wonder at Luke's many accomplishments.  He loved his work and the last time I saw him it was to show off the new green screen capabilities at ICBC.  I think Jim made everyone feel like a close friend.  He certainly felt that way to me.  Still stunned and so very, very sorry.

Jim was always such a great family man- a wonderful husband to Sharen and a great Dad to Lucas.  He was such a helpful neighour to us and a special friend.  We know what a huge hole he leaves in the hearts of his family, friends and co-workers.  We will miss him so much!

Jim had such a light to him. He literally brightened my day whenever we has a visit. I looked forward to my big events as, I knew I had Jim to help keep things going. I learned a lot from him around sound and presentations. He even trusted me with the special tape and gave me my own. I will miss you Jimmy, more than words can express. We had many chats about Lucas and how amazing he is. He was a very proud dad and a very happy hubby. I wish the family all the best, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I wish to express my deepest sympathies to Jim's wife and family.  I worked with Jim while with the Microfilm department.  I remember Jim for his great sense of humor and ability to make people laugh.  He will be missed.

Jim was the brightest  person I met at work, he always had a smile and a greeting for everyone.

Jim was one of the most wonderful men I have had the privilege to know.  He was kind, positive, happy and professional.  He was always smiling, laughing and talked so highly of his family as well as friends.  He was an exceptional person and will be truly missed by everyone who had an opportunity to know him. Working with Jim was always, without exception, fun.  He had plenty of opportunities to complain, and never ever did - just the opposite, in fact.  He always seemed delighted with his work and his life.  As many others have said, he was always happy to see you, to share a word, a laugh, to care, and never asked anything in return.  I will miss him a lot, and my sincerest condolences on his loss go out to his family and those closest to him.

Jim and I met at ICBC in 1980 - we quickly became friends and shared many laughs and stories over the years.  I loved his sense of humour - he greeted everyone with a smile and was genuinely interested in what others were doing.  Jim was an exceptional person who will truly be missed. My sincere condolences to Sharen, Lucas and family.

Jim always had a smile for everyone and was just so positive about things.  Corporate events without Jim in the background keeping everything on track will never be the same. Condolences to his family.

Jim always saw the positive side in every situation. We had many conversations regarding the challenges Lucas has overcome. There was never a time where he complained about the hand his family had been dealt, only the triumphs that resulted from them. He was one of the best feel good people I have ever met, you left too soon Jim, we weren't done with you yet. Rest in peace my friend. My condolences to his family.

We've lost a wonderful family friend. Although devoted to Sharen and Lucas, Jim always had time to inquire about our activities and share news of other Covers.  I was particularly grateful for Sharen's cooking and Jim's delivery service while I was undergoing chemotherapy.  What a relief to have a hot meal arrive at the door in the midst of all that turmoil.  And Jim, so gentle and unassuming, with that delightful twinkle in his eye, was always a welcome sight. Rest in peace, dear friend.

I was so shocked to hear of Jim's passing. We worked closely together on video productions at ICBC and Jim was always positive and willing to try anything. He made it all seem so easy, even though I know he was putting in extra time to make sure it all went perfectly! He always greeted me like he hadn't seen me in years - with enthusiasm and joy. My sincerest sympathy to the family, in particular Jim's wife and son. May you take some comfort in knowing that Jim left such a positive impression with so many people. A true bright light has been extinguished.

Working on projects with Jim was truly one of the highlights of my time at ICBC.  His sense of humour  underlined a gentle and compassionate soul and I am truly blessed to have shared a stage and studio with this talented man. My heartfelt condolences to the family.  We have lost one of the greats.

Jim is like a Brother that I never had. He was my best friend and I could confide about anything to him. I've known Jim for 37 years. I will miss him dearly.

Jim was an exceptional person and co-worker and will be dearly missed by literary everyone in ICBC. He has perfected his digital sound career to an unparalleled level with so much passion, so that it was always a sheer pleasure to work with him and to be impressed with his knowledge. Every single corporate clip, video or photography has something of Jim, so this exceptional man has created a unique legacy, and thus will always be around us in a way. Thank you for everything you did, Jim, thank you for your smile, advice and knowledge  may you rest in peace, your colleagues will never forget you.

We have lost one of the true good guy's, a genuine character and gentleman.
I was fortunate to work with Jim on many side projects and conference preps, always the consummate professional, a duck on water, no matter what was going on below the surface Jim would be there with a welcoming smile, a laugh and joke, and the offer of help if needed. 
Jim will be sadly missed but the warmth and friendship he shared with so many will continue to 'beat' on.

With heavy heart and much sorrow I want to express our deepest of condolences to the family and all who ever crossed Jim's path. He was not a just a coworker but also someone I considered a dear friend. He will always be remembered for his gentle and kind professional and personal support. A true Gentle Man.

For those who knew Jim only in passing, he had these to offer: a gentle conversation, readiness to help with what you need, and an easy smile to welcome you and send you along your way. Jim had a way of making everyone feel special and that the relationship they shared was unique. A nickname for everyone and the feeling that he was always excited to see you. Words can't express the sadness I feel. He took me under his wing and saw my potential. I worked with Jim on many side projects, always off of the side of my desk. He would call and I would always answer. When you had the privilege of working with him, it was never "work". I was also lucky to see him play with his band and hang with him between sets. One of the coolest people I've ever met, but with a never-ending warmth. There will never be anyone like him. He is greatly missed.

I will miss his presence down at P3 level. He resonated light and goodness. He will be missed, but forever remembered for his love of life!

Jim Brown was a remarkable human being and those of us who were lucky enough to know him are truly blessed.  He was such a kind and giving person who always brought laughter and life to everything he did.  The world was a better place with him in it and I'm going to miss him very much.  My heartfelt sympathies go out to his family at this very sad and difficult time.  Rest in peace, my friend.

Jim was a wonderful person who touched everyone he met.  His bright light will be dearly missed.

There are no words to describe the sorrow that I and many of my colleagues feel about the loss of our dear Jim.  I use the word our intentionally as I know every single person that Jim met in this company felt a special relationship with him.  I am so lucky to have been able to work with him for almost 30 years. He had a gift of being able to make you feel that you were the only one who mattered.  Whether it was at a conference, in the hallway or even the elevator, Jim always had a big smile and a warm hug for me and I will cherish those memories.  Jim's devotion to his wife and son was obvious. To say he'll be missed here is an understatement.  He leaves a huge hole in our organization and in our hearts.

He transformed a cart stacked with equipment into a space for others to perform. Then he stayed at the back with his beloved sound board, his laptops, and his microphones. And you knew as you approached the stage or the podium that, more than anything, you had a friend in that space. And if you glanced his way, he was smiling, he was always smiling. Rest in peace Jim Brown and know you made us all better.

We are devastated that Jim will no longer grace our lives with his trademark wit, humour and joie de vivre. I have never met anyone like Jim and likely never will: He was truly unique. Condolences to the family.

I'll miss my friend, who always had a smile and a kind word to say.  Rock on Jim!

Jim was a special special person. He always demonstrated integrity, joy and caring along with his strong work ethic.  I know he valued his family - both his personal family and colleagues.  Jim, you're so missed.

Jim always had a smile on his face and a joke ready to be cracked. I was lucky enough to work on many video projects with him and we emailed about our beloved Canucks as recently as March. I'm very sad we all lost such a great guy. My thoughts are with his family.

Jim was the best person I knew at ICBC. We worked together on many projects, and when we did, we laughed like crazy. Words don't really convey how sad I am. I will miss him a lot.

I worked with Jim on many ICBC projects but our personal connection was music.  Although I did not know Jim in his Victoria days (house band at The Paint Cellar, Empress Hotel), we both played clubs in Victoria about the same time and knew many of the same people.  Having jammed with Jim, regrettably only on one occasion, I can say he was one of the finest drummers that I had the pleasure of playing with.  A gentleman. My sincere condolences to his family.
