

TURNER, Ivy Alice Jeanne (nee Terrace), born in Vancouver, BC on July 18, 1927, passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Ivy has been reunited with her loving husband Raymond Brooks Turner (1997) and her eldest grandson, Jason Brooks Arthur (2004). Ivy was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother; legendary for her sewing and baking among all her loved ones. Left to remember her fondly are her four (4) children: Bob (Anita), Patricia (Andy), Pamela and Maryellen; her grandchildren: Curtis (Corrine), Andrew, Ian (Pear), Riel, Larry and Sarah; her great-grandchildren; and her loving companion Andy Anderson. Ivy graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science, specializing in Home Economics, from the University of British Columbia. She made a career of her passion, becoming a Home Economics teacher in Vancouver and Burnaby; finishing her teaching years at Alpha Secondary School. In their retirement, Raymond and Ivy enjoyed an encore career as cruise ship lecturers and arts and crafts facilitators; sailing together 61 times. Ivy would continue on as a solo act for another 22 sailings. At Ivy’s request her family will host a Celebration of her Life, October 28, 2014, 1:00pm at The Vancouver Club 915 W Hastings St, Vancouver, BC. All who knew and loved Ivy are welcome to join her family as they share stories, goodies and a good glass of Scotch in her memory.
