John passed away peacefully at home in Burnaby on June 21, 2014 at 51 years old. He was predeceased by his mother Yuni and is survived by his father John, sister Melina, brother-in-law Nick and six nephews and nieces (Russell, Alexander, John Carlo, Maria Yuni, James and Lara), as well as extended family in Indonesia, UK and USA. John was born in Montreal and grew up in West Vancouver and Madrid. He attended Capilano College and worked a variety of jobs in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. He was a knowledgeable and avid reader and cinephile. John had a fine sense of humour and was a warm and gentle soul who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hollyburn Funeral Home, West Vancouver on August 9, 2014 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Burnaby Task Force on Homelessness or the North Shore Schizophrenia Society.
