January 24, 1922 – June 9, 2011
Margaret Jeane Forster (nee Nairn) passed away peacefully after a brief illness on June 9th, 2011 in West Vancouver at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years Allan Forster, Jeane will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons Bruce and Doug, her daughters-in-law Kelly and Silvia, her granddaughters Lauren and Taylor, her sister Betty, her brother-in-law Gordon and her nieces, nephews and many friends. Jeane was born in Heward, Saskatchewan and lived briefly in Nelson, B.C. before settling in Vancouver. She trained and worked as a nurse’s aide and dental hygienist in West Vancouver and married her sweetheart Allan Forster on March 15, 1946. Jeane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and she was a true inspiration to her family. Jeane was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing social bridge with close friends and family as well as competitive duplicate bridge. Mom was the consummate entertainer and greatly enjoyed preparing memorable dinners for family and friends on holidays and special occasions. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Hollyburn House for their care and attention. A very special heartfelt thanks also to Paz and Marcelina for their outstanding care and compassion over many years. Jeane considered you both ‘family’ as do we. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 16th, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Hollyburn Funeral Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeane’s memory can be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Canadian National Institute For The Blind (CNIB).
