Passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep after a short illness. Born in Ste. Luce-sur-Mer, Québec, a long-time resident of Niagara on the Lake, Ontario and most recently of West Vancouver. Paul is survived by his wife of 50 years Doris, his children Marc, Shawn (Jessica) and grandson Jack. He also leaves behind two brothers and three sisters and many nieces and nephews. To say Paul loved cars doesn’t capture his passion for the automobile. Cars were in his blood. He sold, fixed, collected, built, raced and dreamed of them. He was also a long-time employee of General Motors in St. Catharines, ON, retiring in 1993. If you ever saw a man sitting atop a 50-foot TV antenna that was likely Paul. As owner/operator of Paul’s TV & Antenna—a successful electronics sales and repair business—he put up hundreds of towers around Niagara. He reluctantly subscribed to cable only after moving to BC. Paul had a natural ability to do anything he set his mind to, including building two houses with his beloved T-Love, fixing electronics or appliances or adding custom body work to his Toronado. From foundation-to-finish he did it all proudly himself and even worked through a broken back to finish the plumbing on his second house. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, witty sense of humour, the twinkle in his eye, his love of music (there was always a radio playing somewhere) and his dedication to friends and neighbours. If you ever needed an extra set of hands around the house Paul was there to help with a great big smile. The family wishes to thank Dr. Bayfield, Dr. Byman and the nurses at Lions Gate Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations to Lions Gate Hospital or a charity of your choice.
