cancer predeceased by parents Ivan and Gladys and brother, Ian.
Born in Grande Prairie Alberta, Terry daily rode his horse, Queenie, to
Debolt where he attended a one room school house until boarding at St.
John's high school in Edmonton. He graduated in 1960 from U. of A. with
a degree in pharmacy.
He was employed by Eli Lilly until, on a trip to Vancouver, he was
seduced by the balmy west coast. He started working at Woodwards and
was quickly promoted to assistant department manager, downtown store.
In 1965 Terry met and married the love of his life, Margaret Wipper (St.
Catharines, Ont.)
Another promotion took the couple to Port Alberni then to Edmonton. But
the call of the coast was strong and the family moved back to Vancouver
where he was employed by Shoppers Drug Mart as an associate/owner. He
moved from Vancouver to Victoria, and Kelowna, then serving as
Executive Vice president, and Regional head for British Columbia and
Yukon until his retirement in 2000. During this time he also served five
years as councillor with the College of Pharmacy.
Retirement years have brought much happiness for Terry with the
marriages of son Craig to Darlene Heidemann (Ben & Charlie) and Laura
to Rob Schneeweiss (Lia & Milena)
A celebration of Terry's life will be held at West Vancouver United, 2062 Esquimalt Avenue, West Vancouver, B.C. November 17 at 4pm
Donations in Terry's name may be made to Lions Gate Hospital, Cancer Clinic
