

She was a member of Westlake Church of God for 72 years. She served as the Sunday School Superintendent and was a faithful choir member. She loved gospel music. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family was her life. She was known for her patience, quietness and gentleness. She never uttered a harsh word. She loved the Lord and bore witness to him every day. She enjoyed flower arranging and sewing. Special thanks to Odyssey Hospice group, especially Callie East and her husband, Rev. Rocky East and Dr. Mike Turner.
Survivors include her son, Devere Dale Palmer and wife, Charlotte of Ragley, LA; daughter, Wanda Palmer Dowden and husband, Roy of Westlake; sister-in-law, Bettye Crowe of York, PA; nephews, Doug Crow and wife, Annie of Parkton, MD, Dan Crowe of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Tina Dowden Yentzen and husband, Ron of Moss Bluff, Amy Palmer of Lake Charles, Carla Palmer Turner and husband, Dr. Mike Turner; great grandchildren, Chase, Dallas, and Makenzie Yentzen, Arden, Kyle, and Evangeline Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Beulah Crow; husband, Devere "Dee" Palmer; brothers, James and Glenn Crow; sister, Yomah Crow and a grandson, Greg Dowden.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Holly Grove Cemetery in Anacoco. Rev. Rocky East will officiate. Visitation will be at Westlake Church of God, Sunday 4-8 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
